Why we exist
The people best placed to explain a system are usually the people paid to defend it.
That is not a scandal, it is just how organisations work. The vendor knows their product. The engineering team knows their code. The integrator knows the design they proposed. Each of them is describing the part they are responsible for, honestly, and nobody is describing the joins.
We were set up to be the outside reader. We come in with no history in the estate, no relationship to protect, and no interest in what you decide afterwards. That is an uncomfortable position to occupy commercially, which is exactly why so few firms hold it properly.

We publish the rules before we score
Rubrics and the benchmark method are on this site. If you disagree with how something is scored, you can disagree with a written rule rather than with a person's judgement.

An absence of evidence is never a pass
If we could not see it, the report says we could not see it and scores it accordingly. Clients push back on this more than anything else and we do not move.

We disclose every interest on page one
Including where a connected firm could be engaged to fix what we found. On the cover, in plain language, not in a footnote at the back.

We defend findings in the room
In front of the team who built the system, not only in front of the client who paid us. If we are wrong we correct it in writing and reissue.
Structure and independence
Independence has to be structural, or it is just a promise.
AuditTrax Labs Inc is a US entity registered in the State of Georgia. It shares ownership with firms that carry out technology delivery and infrastructure work, and that relationship is disclosed on the cover page of every report we issue.
What matters is what we did structurally about it. The assessor who signs a finding never joins the team that remediates it. No part of assessor compensation is linked to what a client does after the readout. Assessment fees are fixed at scope and do not vary with the outcome. And the design or worklist we hand over is written so any competent third party can act on it, which means our recommendations have to survive being executed by somebody else.

Investor-side diligence tends to come from North America and Europe. Sovereign cloud work follows the regulation, which right now means Europe, India and South East Asia. AI governance work comes from everywhere at once. Site visits are part of the sovereign engagements, so we travel for those rather than assessing a building from photographs.
